Welcome to CookieShift. Follow this path to go from a new account to a live consent banner, a cookie inventory, and records you can export for audits.

You do not need WordPress or developer experience to complete the basic setup. Choose the install method that matches your website.

What you will accomplish

Phase 1 — Account & property (15 min)

Sign in

Use email/password or Continue with Google. Verify email if your deployment requires it.

Add your first website

1. Websites → Register Domain
2. Enter production hostname (e.g. www.brand.com)
3. Submit → note redirect to onboarding template or website list

Select property

Use the header property selector on every page. Wrong selection is the #1 cause of “banner didn’t update.”

Phase 2 — Install (15–45 min)

Choose one path:

Confirm Modules shows Connected after deploy.

Phase 3 — Scan (10–30 min)

1. Open Scanner
2. Run Scan or Run Full Scan
3. Wait for Completed
4. Review Overview KPIs and Elevated risk
5. Open Tracker Inventory → clear Unclassified

Phase 4 — Consent banner (30–90 min)

1. Consent Setup → pick law (GDPR, CCPA, or registry search)
2. Appearance — layout, colors, buttons
3. Content — fill every category description
4. Compliance — strict mode / Do Not Sell as counsel advises
5. Save Changes
6. Test in incognito (Accept, Reject, Customize)
